DUSEL review to be April 13-15 Print E-mail

LEAD A comprehensive and intense federal review of the DUSEL proposal is right around the corner.
April 13-15 representatives from the National Science Foundation will meet with the entire DUSEL team and some representatives of the Sanford Lab to run a fine-toothed comb through some of the preliminary plans for the proposal to build a deep underground science and engineering laboratory in Lead. The meeting is one of many of its kind that have been held this year. But this time National Science Foundation representatives will review the technical aspects of the project, education and outreach efforts, and everything else related to the project of building a world-class laboratory up to 7,400 feet underground.
 
Sanford Lab, Homestake to share cost of water line replacement for mutually beneficial water treatment agreement Print E-mail

LEAD  The Sanford Lab will spend up to $1 million to replace a pipeline that allows Homestake Mining Co. to blend its water from the Grizzly Gulch tailings facility with water that is pumped out of the mine.
 
Lab video draws from statewide, national talent pool Print E-mail

LEAD  Drawing from a large pool of talent across the state and the nation, the Sanford Lab recently produced a video that will highlight the importance of the DUSEL project, as well as how the lab uses a super high-speed Internet system that is reserved for research projects.
