LEAD A comprehensive and intense federal review of the DUSEL proposal is right around the corner. April 13-15 representatives from the National Science Foundation will meet with the entire DUSEL team and some representatives of the Sanford Lab to run a fine-toothed comb through some of the preliminary plans for the proposal to build a deep underground science and engineering laboratory in Lead. The meeting is one of many of its kind that have been held this year. But this time National Science Foundation representatives will review the technical aspects of the project, education and outreach efforts, and everything else related to the project of building a world-class laboratory up to 7,400 feet underground.
